Germany's best Pinot Noir - Gault Millau 2014

Very fascinating bouquet, full, full-bodied, clear ripe fruit, good substance and structure, very persistent

Location: Steep location, central south, from our best vineyards in the Recher Herrenberg. With its slate weathered soil with greywacke, the steep slope facing south, with a slope of up to 60%, offers excellent conditions for optimal use of solar energy. For the production of elegant, sometimes massive, Pinot Noir wines with a high aging potential, you will find the ideal conditions here.

Vinification: The hand-picked, strictly selected grapes were temperature-controlled for 17 days, without stalks, fermented on the mash. The malolactic fermentation took place in the 16 months of aging and storage in new barriques.

A long gold capsule only grows in exceptionally good years like 2011. The last vintages were 2009, 2006, 2003, 1999 and 1997.
