Mersault is a town on the southern Côte d’Or in Burgundy and the capital of white Burgundy wines. Meursault mainly produces white wines from the Chardonnay grape, around a third of which are classified as Premiers Crus. The total of around 600 hectares of vineyards are divided as follows: 140 hectares of AOC Meursault Premier Cru, 280 hectares of AOC Meursault and 180 hectares of AOC Bourgogne (Rouge or Aligoté). Lex Narvaux is one of the very famous individual village locations in Meursault. Jean-Marie Bouzereau can call his own just 0.6 hectares of the 13.44 hectares of the site. His piece is in the lower part of the very stony vineyard, the so-called Narvaux Dessous. Les Narvaux is famous for its very stony soil, which often leads to great minerality in the wine - also here with this prime example. The history of the domain is also the history of the Henri Moroni family. Marc Jomain worked closely with the widow Henri Moroni in the early 1970s. For reasons of age, she handed over the business to him in 1982. The children took over the business, which at that time had 7 hectares of cultivated land. They brought the domain under the brand name "Domaine Jomain" and "Jomain Frères" to the reputation it has today. The total area under cultivation for white and red wines now extends to 9 hectares. The winery produces world-famous white wines such as the Grand Cru or 1er Cru based on the Chardonnay grape.
