A first-class Pinot Noir from the Vosne-Romanée area.
The grapes from which this fine Pinot Noir was vinified come from vines that are on average 70 years old. The vineyard area on which this wine is grown is just 1.7 hectares. The wine is aged in barriques for over 16 months, 50% of which in new barrique barrels. As a legacy of the NOELLAT family, the winery was founded by Félix NOELLAT in the 19th century. Brother of Charles NOELLAT, Ernest (son of Félix) had two sons Georges and Henri, who married Marie Thérèse Jayer. They had two children, Michel, who started his estate with part of the family vines, and Lucette. Michel NOELLAT (1927-1989) married a very distant cousin of Chambolle: the property could have been called NOELLAT-NOELLAT. This connection resulted in four children: Jacky, Alain, Eliane and Jean-Marc. In 1989, after the death of their father, Alain and Jean-Marc ensured the successor and founded the SCEA Domaine Michel NOELLAT.
