Fragrance: Slightly spicy, with an odour of aniseed, but also earthy and camphoric, warm, sweet.
Perfumery Note: Middle
Blends well with: Geranium, rose, lavender, sandalwood, other herb and spice oils, bergamot, grapefruit, ylang ylang, juniper, cypress.
External Application:
Mixed with vegetable oil (5-7 drops of fennel oil to 10ml of vegetable oil) for the treatment of oily, impure skin for all types of stomach and intestinal disorders, like colic and gastric spasms (rubbing it in ) cellulite (as a massage oil) fennel oil’s oestrogen-stimulating properties make it useful for treating menstrual problems (menarche, PMS, menopause),tones breast tissue!
For the treatment of bruises: Used together with coriander it supports blood sugar balance
Mixed with water (5 drops to 1/8 litre of water) as a gargle for the treatment of throat inflammation.
Detoxifying in a bath!
Internal Application:
Fennel oil is aperient, anthelmintic, antiseptic, antispasmodic (relieved muscle spasms), diuretic (most common problem treated with diuretic products is high blood pressure -.reduce amount of liquid in blood vessels -> reduce blood pressure), carminative and expectorant. It helps to get rid of hiccups and intestinal parasites. Helps with hypertension. It is also used for the cure of urethritis; it normalises the menstrual cycle and increases the flow of milk with breast-feeding mothers.
Fennel tea (not the oil!) can be used directly as an eye tonic to reduce soreness and inflammation (use like eye drops or as a compress)
In the Diffuser:
Helps to overcome loneliness, emotional disorder and colds. For breathing disorders and pulmonary congestion
