Juniper Essential Oil, Therapeutical Grade

Fragrance: Aromatic, spicy, balmy, sweet

Perfumery Note: Middle

Blends well with: Vetiver, sandalwood, cedar wood, cypress, pine, clary sage, lavender, fennel, grapefruit and other citrus oils, geranium, rosemary, frankincense and sandalwood.

External Application:

As a massage oil (5 drops of juniper oil to 10ml of vegetable oil) for the

treatment of haemorrhoids (use cotton wool buds for application), cellulite (has a purging effect), rheumatism, arthritis, lumbago, acne, psoriasis, keeps ticks and fleas away.

Added to a bath (5 drops to a full bath) juniper oil stimulates menstruation and helps with rheumatic complaints and after drinking alcohol excessively.

Application in Cosmetics:

The antiseptic, cleansing and dehydrating effect of juniper oil makes it especially suitable for normal to oily skin.

Internal Application:

1 drop of juniper oil added to some herbal tea acts as a tonic during convalescence. This is due to the detoxifying, diuretic (especially important with gout, rheumatism, and arthritis) and appetite-increasing effect of juniper oil.

In addition it has a stimulating, reviving, antiseptic and blood-purifying effect. Finally it acts as a stomachic tonic, stimulates the blood-pressure and dissolves uric acid.

In the Diffuser:

Brings clarity into our emotional life; has a balancing effect in times of stress and anxiety; gives us strength and courage on days when everything goes wrong; cleanses the atmosphere of a room

SPECIFIC SAFETY ADVICE

Avoid during pregnancy, with babies, acute urinary tract disease or kidney infection!

GENERAL SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR ESSENTIAL OILS
Essential oils are potent plant extracts! Do not take any oils internally without consultation from a qualified medical practitioner. Keep all essential oils securely out of child’s reach. Do not apply undiluted to the skin. Always avoid mucous membranes and eyes. If you are pregnant or have any medical problem, use oils only under the proper guidance of a qualified medical practitioner. Use extreme caution when using oils for children and use only the gentlest oils at very low concentrations; it is safest to consult a qualified medical / aromatherapy practitioner. A skin patch test should be conducted prior to using any oil. Essential oils may attack plastics and varnished surfaces! And here’s another fact that most of us would be rather unaware of... many essential oils are highly flammable!
