Nutmeg Essential Oil, Therapeutical Grade

Fragrance: Warm, aromatic and spicy

Perfumery Note: Middle

Blends well with: Lavender, clary sage, geranium, rosemary, petitgrain, orange, lemon, lime, cypress, tea tree, cinnamon, clove other spices.

External Application: 

Mixed with vegetable oil (5 drops of nutmeg oil to 10ml of vegetable oil) as a rub for rheumatic complaints; as a rub for muscular pains (10 drops to 10ml of oil); generally soothing; nervous exhaustion, tiredness; lumbago (lower back pain); stimulates circulatory system

Mixed with pharmaceutical-grade alcohol and / or distilled water for hair tonic;as a gargle against bad breath.

Internal Application: 

1 drop of nutmeg oil in a glass of herbal tea provides a stomachic tonic which stimulates the digestion, the appetite, and menstruation. It also helps with intestinal infections, chronic diarrhoea and flatulence.

In the Diffuser: 

As a component of winter blends (e.g. with orange) nutmeg oil is wonderfully warming. Strengthens the will;lack of energy; eases labor pain; helps with lack of decision and apathy; has an encouraging effect; mobilizes the powers of resistance in cold weather



SPECIFIC SAFETY ADVICE

Used in large doses nutmeg may lead to allergic reactions and toxic effects, leading to nausea, stupor and irregular heartbeat. Avoid in pregnancy, with small children and in case of high blood pressure.
