A powder house used to stand on the vineyard where the grapes for this wine are grown. The powder stored there was used to blast the limestone rocks and enable the vineyards to be cultivated. The name powder keg is not only based on the historical background, but is also reflected in the characteristics of the wine. A wonderful spiciness and pleasant notes of black pepper paired with red fruits characterize this cuvée Stephan and Georg Schwedhelm are the young generation of the winery of the same name and took over the family business in 2006. Since then, the winery has been thinking back to classic grape varieties with origins. They concentrate on Riesling and Burgundy varieties, listen to their vineyards and give the wines plenty of time to mature in the cellar.
